An agricultural education program is made up of three integrated parts: Classroom instruction, FFA and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). Students with an SAE learn by doing. With help from their agricultural teachers, students develop an SAE project based on one or more SAE categories.
Students are responsible for maintaining and recording an agriculture project throughout the term. Students should spend a minimum of 10 hours per term on their project. This project accounts for 10% of their overall grade. Students with exceptional projects will have the opportunity to apply for awards & scholarships through FFA.
Acceptable projects include:
Gardens, Horses, Livestock, Chickens, Aquaculture, Horticulture, Composting, Fruit Trees, Jobs in Agriculture, Landscaping, and Hydroponics.
Unacceptable projects include:
Pets, Fast Food Jobs, Grocery Store Clerks, Department Store Jobs.
