Floral Design is a class structured to enhance students’ knowledge and ability of the floriculture industry. This class meets “A” through “G” UC/CSU requirements for fine arts. Topics covered in this course include flower preparation and design, identification of materials and tools, caring for and selecting plants, and management of a retail floral operation. Students will gain hands on experience by performing the tasks performed in retail flower shop. Agriculture education classes are designed for students to learn hands on skills and develop leadership development through classroom/ laboratory instruction, FFA and supervised agricultural experiences. In addition to classroom instruction, students will be able to participate in FFA/community service and plan, start, and / or continue a supervised agriculture experience (S.A.E.) project to insure a well-rounded agriculture experience.
