Ms. Thomas has been teaching agriculture for the last 10 years. During her freshman year of high school she took her first agriculture class. Throughout her high school years she appreciated the opportunity to learn about agriculture and serve as a leader in the FFA Organization. After High School Ms. Thomas went to Chico State and received a degree in Agriculture Sciences and a Masters Degree in Agriculture Education. She worked at the Chico State Farm in the Dairy Unit and Row Crops Unit. Ms. Thomas started her teaching career at Perris High School in Riverside County. Since her return to her alma mater in 2019 she has worked to develop new curriculum, update facilities, and expand the agriculture program at SMHS.
Mrs. Villegas has been teaching for a total of 9 years. During these nine years Mrs. Villegas has taught Outdoor Recreation, Ag Bio, Ag Applied General Science, Intro to Ag (7th/8th), Ag Soil Chem, Floral Design, Regular Science (7th grade/EL). Ms. Navarrete is in her 2nd year of teaching at San Marcos High School. She graduated from Chico State where she received a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education in 2022. Throughout her high school career Ms. Navarrete was a part of the FFA organization in Central California. She raised various livestock such as chickens and lambs and was also a huge horticulture enthusiast. At San Marcos High School Ms. Navarrete teaches Agriculture Biology and is the horticulture, sheep/goat, and FFA advisor.
Mrs. Silva has taught at San Marcos High School for 20+ years. She has taught a variety sciences and our Floral Design classes. Mrs. Silva's expertise in Floral Design comes from years of working in the floral industry. She has had many students complete floral certifications preparing them for the real world!
