Camp Capers

There have been a few internet issues on camp, so our community reporters haven't been able to put up any posts yet... but here are a few photos that the teachers sent through to us back here at St Mel's:

Monday (Day one)

On the first day of camp we arrived at school at around 6:30 AM and left at 7:00. We first stopped at Albury, then 2 hours later we stopped at Gundagai, then our next stop was the mint then we headed to our accommodation.

Tuesday (Day two)

We started the day off with breakfast at 7:30. And then we got on the bus and headed off to the National Capital Exhibition which went for one hour. Then at 10:30 AM we arrived at the National Museum and finished at 12:00 PM. Then we had lunch at a park which was just across from the War Memorial. We arrived at the War Memorial but started the guide at 1:30. The tour guides took us to the roll of honour and we also got to see the Unknown solider. Then we got back on the bus and had dinner at 6:00 Pm and at 7:30 Pm we went to Putt Putt Golf.

Wednesday (Day three)

Today was a very big day we woke up at 6:30 am and had breakfast at 7:00 am.

Our first activity was the Embassy Drive that was at 8:30 am after we headed to Parliament House. When we got there we had to go through security it was like at the airport then we went upstairs and we had Parliament Educators. Then we had a tour of the Senate Chamber and The House of Representatives one of the tour guides was Thomas Ryan's uncle.

Then we went for lunch near the National Gallery then we went to the National Gallery, and our tour guides showed us very famous art work.

Then we went to the A.I.S Tour and we did Interactive games that were sports from the Olympics the Winter Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, after was our tour of the A.I.S. Then we went back and had dinner.

Then we went to the Telstra Tower it was so cool because we got to see the amazing view.

Thursday (Day four)

Today we went to Questacon for the whole morning, and it was a little like Science-Works in Melbourne, but way cooler! there was three levels, with like 7 rooms around the walls, and a part connecting each room. There was an earthquake simulator, and a 'Caged Lightning' every 15 minutes. The shop was amazing!

Next we visited the Museum of Democracy. We learned about the history of democracy and equality, then we visited the first Senate Chamber or the House of Representatives. Chamber. Then we headed home to our accommodation to pack and sleep. (For Friday

Friday (Day five)

We ate breakfast and got on the bus at 7:00 Am and we got on the bus and headed back to Shepparton.
