Book Week Shortlisted

The Community Reporters read these shortlisted books:

A Second Sky is about a penguin when he is first born he wants to fly but penguins can't fly. He wishes to get more feathers hoping that will help him fly but it doesn't happen. Then a bird comes swooping down and he wants to be just like that bird. Then he waddles up a hill and tries to fly but he just tumbles and falls into the water. His name is Gilbert and when he is in the water he saw trees and bushes in the in the sea and then he felt like he was flying. It was like a second sky.

The Sloth Who Came To Stay is about a girl which is part of a family that do fast things who found a sloth in the park. By the end of him staying he slowed the fast family down to be a more relaxed and chilled family. He stayed for 3 weeks and the next day he left to the new fastest family in the world and he changed how lived very very slowly.

Do Not Lick This Book is about a microbes and where they are and what they do. The main character in this book is Min, you and Min go on lots of adventures and discover more microbes the more you progress through the book. You meet new microbes in many different places and some come along with you and Min on this journey.

Mopoke is about a bird, and how there are different types. From this book, I took the vibe that everyone is different, and or try different things! So go out and have a go!
