Entries: Athletes may only participate in one meet this week—either this district Championship B & C team meet, or the district Championship A team meet Thursday, October 14 at Black Hoof Park.

Camps:

Due to construction, it is best to camp on/near the tennis courts near the turf field. The doors facing west will be unlocked for bathrooms. A coach/adult should accompany athletes using the bathroom if sending more than 1-2 athletes inside.

Trash is located near the IW camp at the SW corner of the tennis courts. If you bring your own trash bags, you may leave them by the dumpster when you leave. Please bring water for your athletes.

Bibs & Chips:

Team Packets may be picked up from the Indian Woods camp when teams arrive. The packet will contain course maps, timing chips, athlete bib numbers, and safety pins. We will be using chip timing. Each runner will be assigned a chip and bib number. Chips should be attached to runner’s shoes by the shoe laces. Unlace one or two holes, attach the chip, then relace. This will ensure the chip is not lost on the course. Be sure bib numbers are attached at all four corners so the camera can read the numbers as runners pass at the finish line.

Please collect all chips at the conclusion of the races and turn them into Coach Haberland in order. You will be charged $10 for each unreturned chip.

Team Scores:

Team scores will be figured and communicated to the coaches. Medals will be awarded to the top 10 in each category—B team boys, B team girls, C team boys, and C team girls. An awards ceremony will be held near the tennis courts at the SW corner of the building.

Course Monitors and Markings: The course is clearly marked with a solid white line. Runners must stay within 3 feet of the line at all times. Monitors will be stationed at various points on the course to ensure a fair race. Flags may be found around the course to present a clear boundary to the running course.

The 1600m race will begin at the 50yard line of the turf field, will follow the course for one loop and finish at the red tent.

The 3200m race will begin at the goal line of the turf field. It will follow the white line around just like the 1600m race. The first time athletes reach the baseball diamond behind the timing tent, athletes will run up and around then back down to the stop sign at 97th & Woodson. The second time athletes run the course, athletes will skip running around the baseball diamond and will go straight the stop sign at 97th & Woodson and back up onto the field. A course monitor will be located in this area to ensure athletes properly follow the course.

Housekeeping: Trash is located near the IW tent at the SW corner. If you bring your own trash bags, you may leave them by the dumpster. Please bring water for your athletes.

Please ask your spectators to stay off of the course and behind flags. Athletes not competing need to stay away from the finish line to prevent chips from registering. Additionally, athletes, parents, and coaches need to stay away from the red timing tent. This area is designated for our timing crew only. Please clearly communicate this with your athletes and families.
