SMW Tech Rescue is a resource to help fix your common technology issues and provide updates related to technology.
Below are quick solutions to the most common technology problems.
If your WebHelpDesk or Classlink icons disappear from your dock:
If your screen goes into recovery:
Try to restart your computer. If this doesn't work, a tech analyst will have to help you.
Ask a staff member to put in a Web Help Ticket for Tech Support for you.
Please note:
The recovery screen happens when you push the power key too many times or hold it down too long.
Your Macbook automatically powers on when you open it, so there is no need to push the power key. When using the touch ID, make sure you're not pushing the key down.
If websites are blocked that shouldn't be:
Reset Chrome to its original settings.
Click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of Chrome.
Click Settings
Click Reset Settings on the left hand side
Click restore settings to their original defaults
Quit Chrome and then reopen it.
If step 1 doesn't work, try to Clear the Cache and Delete Cookies
If steps 1 and 2 don't work, try a Lightspeed Fix.
If you are still unable to view websites, put in a Web Help Ticket for Tech Support.
If you are unable to connect to wifi at school:
