Welcome to third grade! My name is Kim Bogdan, and I will be your child's teacher this year. I am anxious to become a partner with you in your child's education. It will be an exciting and fun-filled year. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know a little about myself.

I am so excited to begin this school year. It will be my 33rd year teaching. I graduated from Towson State University with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Education. I am a certified Reading Specialist. I have taught children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Third grade has always been my favorite grade to teach. I am catechist certified and hold an Advanced Professional Catechist Certification. I have been a religion teacher for over 30 years.

I have three wonderful sons who all attended SMS. Jacob just graduated from Towson University and is beginning his career as an accountant. Josh is attending law school at the University of Maryland. Andrew graduated from The Citadel and is an officer in the Air Force. My husband is an attorney and works right down the road on Main Street.

My Mission for the Class

I know my teaching must begin with making your child feel at home in my classroom. It is my hope to help all the children come together into a learning community made of unique individuals, each with his or her own learning style, interests, history, and hopes.
