FRN redistributes excess prepared food from Smith College to Northampton community members experiencing food insecurity. We collect data from every pan of food we recover and share our findings with Smith Dining Services, enabling them to implement more informed and sustainable ordering practices. Student volunteers rescue food every day across campus, reducing food waste, decreasing CO2 emissions from discarded and composted food, and supplying our partner, Manna Community Kitchen, with the resources they need to support their work fighting food insecurity.
