About Me

Biography

I came to Smith from Cornell University, where I spent two years as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research.

I received my doctorate in Applied Psychology from New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, and my BA from Swarthmore College.

I have worked in the nonprofit and international service-learning sectors in NYC, Estonia, and Greece.

When I'm not researching or teaching, I enjoy hiking, riding horses, baking cookies, doting on my cat, and tending my ever-expanding collection of carnivorous plants.

A Note on Pronouns

I use "they/them" and "she/her" pronouns. You are welcome to refer to me using either. If you want to learn more, here's a great place to start. For a more philosophical discussion, I highly recommend the works of Marquis Bey and Becky Bigler

Where am I?

Here in Northampton, MA I live and work on the lands of the Nonotuck, Nipmuc, and Pocumtuc peoples. I believe (and argue in my research) that accurate historical knowledge is key to rejecting present day injustice. As such, knowing whose land we occupy is a first step. This acknowledgment is the start of a conversation, not a solution to the disenfranchisement of native peoples.
