Occasionally we hear from parents with Hotmail or Outlook addresses that they have not received messages sent via the Families Mailing List. When we check our server logs, we see that the message has been delivered and received, but the parents are unable to find the message.
The first thing to do in such cases is to check the Junk Email folder. If you still do not see the message, search for messages from smis.ac.jp.
Following are the instructions to add St. Mary’s International School to your safe senders list. This is a good idea in any case to ensure you don't miss any messages from St. Mary’s.
These instructions apply to the web-based version of Outlook at outlook.live.com. If you're using another method to retrieve your Hotmail or Outlook mail, the instructions may be different.
1. Click on the Settings icon, and then the "View all Outlook settings" link.
2. Navigate to Mail > Junk email:
3. Under "Blocked senders and domains," search for @smis.ac.jp and delete any entries. Do the same for @gmail.com.
4. Under "Safe senders and domains," click the Add button and enter "smis.ac.jp," then click the Enter or Return key to add it. Do the same for gmail.com.
5. Finally, for "Safe mailing lists," click the Add button and add each of the list addresses that apply to you. The following example is for a student in the Elementary School, Grade 4, Homeroom 4M. (If you're unsure of which addresses to add, please let us know and we'll send you a list.)
families_all@smis.ac.jp
families_es@smis.ac.jp
families_gr4@smis.ac.jp
families_4m@smis.ac.jp
