The core content of Topic A is foundational to physics, and all students should be very familiar with Topics A.1, A.2, and A.3 as they will be repeatedly referenced throughout the course. They are:

• A.1 Kinematics (SL)

• A.2 Forces and momentum (SL)

• A.3 Work, energy and power (SL)

Only HL students are required to study the last two subtopics:

• A.4 Rigid body mechanics (HL)

• A.5 Galilean and special relativity (HL)
