*If you have specific questions for the director, please feel free to email them to her! She will update this section regularly with answers to all of your questions.
"What instruments can I choose from?" While there are many instruments in the String Family, our program is designed to offer quality music instruction on four: Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass.
"Will participating in orchestra take up all of my time?" Nope! Performing Ensembles are definitely a commitment, but they do not prevent you from participating in other classes, ensembles, activities, or sports.
"How often does the orchestra perform?" The number of performances varies according to the school calendar and building. Visit the Calendar tab for specifics!
"Do I have to attend all performances?" Yep. Orchestra is considered a Performing Ensemble. All performances are worth 100 points in the Summative Category. Any known time conflicts must be communicated with the director at least 3 weeks in advance via the Performance Absence Form.
"Does the orchestra tour or travel?" Yes! The SMF String Orchestra has traveled to Akron, Cleveland, Sandusky (Cedar Point), Chicago, and New York City.
"Will you be staying for the next four years?" I sure hope so! I plan to be here as long as you'll have me!
"What is your favorite kind of cheese?" Gouda. Easy money.
"Do you have a Venmo or QR code set up for monetary donations?" Not yet. If you are interested in forming an Orchestra Booster Program, definitely hit me up!
