"Try as hard as you can to stay out of drama. It may seem interesting in the moment, but it really won't do you any good" -NSM middle school student

Here are some of the benefits of a smaller middle school:

  • You are so much closer with your classmates. This is something that makes the NSM community such a special one.

  • Where we live, it makes it very easy for us to find many other social outlets such as team sports, art, dance, outside of school.

  • Your teachers all know you really well, and are able to help you and get to know you on a deeper level.

Please know that all your teachers, all things academic aside, care about YOU. And I guarantee you, all of your teachers want nothing but the best for you. They care about your mental well-being, your success, and they genuinely want you to challenge yourself and strive for your best even if that means slow but steady progress.

"Going to a smaller middle school definitely had it's benefits, such as more specialized attention. The community at NSM is small, but very strong and supportive. This made it easier to ask questions when you didn't understand something, and practice communicating with your teachers and other adults, which is important for high school too." -NSM alumni
