Communication

I send messages to the palm of my students' & their parents' hands. By using Remind.com information that I send arrives as a text message. I like to be able to schedule announcements as well communicate real-time without exchanging phone numbers. Did I mention you use your Google Acct to sign up? No new logins!

I build a sense of community in my classroom by encouraging my students. Parents are kept in contact with what is happening in the classroom, insights to how their child is contributing to our class culture & get photos of their child in action. Class Dojo has changed my classroom environment & I would love to show other teachers how to do it.

Communicating with parents is a breeze now that I use Class Tag. With this app I coordinate conferences, volunteer sign-ups & automatically send news letters out. I can see which parents have received my message, and who still has not gotten the info. My email is now manageable with the 1-1 and group messaging I can use in this free app.

My students independently document their work in Seesaw, creating a portfolio of their learning. My comments and feedback are organized nicely in the learning space. Work is showcased for parents along with announcements, providing a safe communication platform. If you see this badge on my door, feel free to ask me about adding this 21st century app to your class toolbox.

With FlipGrid I get to HEAR each and every one of my students. FlipGrid gives my learners a chance to demonstrate their thought process. ANY time I want my students to record a video for my class, I have them use FlipGrid. There is no uploading/downloading and the videos are all curated in one location for easy viewing for me and my class. After I make the topic, FlipGrid gives me a unique URL to post on my website and/or Google Classroom. It is so easy to share and no-logins required! Consider having your students TELL you what they know on their next assignment.
