Calendar of Events  

BECA Timeline 2025-2026

For Scholarship Providers: 

• October 15, Wednesday, Kick-off meeting via Zoom

• November 15, Saturday, Complete electronic form with name and contact information for your primary and secondary contacts for the year. 

• December 1,  Monday, Deadline to finalize your scholarship description for the year via an electronic form. 

• March 15,  Sunday, By this date, or sooner,  you will receive the applications from all students who selected your scholarship. 

• April 15, Wednesday, Notify your selected students of their award and invite them to the Awards Ceremony. 

• May 18, Monday. Scholarship Awards Ceremony at USMSM. 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

For Students and Families: 

January, 2026

15, Thursday

• The application is available at the BECA website www.smcbeca.org

26, Monday

•  BECA’s Scholarship Fair, at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center,  from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. 

March, 2026

5, Thursday

• On or before midnight, all parts of the application are due and are submitted electronically. No paper documents accepted. 

April, 2026

• During April, the individual providers select the winners of their scholarships and notify them. Interviews of finalists will be held by some scholarship providers. You should frequently check the email address and voicemail number you provided for requests for interviews and notifications of awards.  

15, Wednesday

• Scholarship Providers will notify students of their award on or before this date.

May, 2026

18, Monday

• Scholarship Awards Ceremony, located at the USMSM (former Higher Education Center) from 4:00 to 6:30pm. All students who have been notified of an award are invited and will be recognized. Family and friends are welcome.
