My name is Summer Wood, the Fifth Grade Science and Social Studies teacher at Piney Point Elementary School. I have always dreamed about being a teacher and becoming one has been extremely fulfilling. In order to get to where I am today I have my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary from Frostburg State and am currently working on my Master's Degree from Towson University in the Leadership Program. Entering my 6th year, I am prepared to get your child ready for middle school!

Born and raised in Southern Maryland, I am very close to my family and enjoy my time with them. I am a proud dog mom of a Chocolate Labrador Retriever named Witten. He got his name due to my love for the Dallas Cowboys who I enjoy watching every football season, tends to get intense. I also enjoy rooting on the Washington Capitals during hockey season.

I have a huge passion for the hands on experience revolving around Science and for digging deeper into our American History within Social Studies. I am excited to be apart of your child's Fifth Grade experience here at Piney Point! #Beacons
