Come and visit us!
Our curriculum is based on the foundational principle that every child is unique and learns in different ways. Our job is to help them build positive relationships in an enabling environment so they can develop at their own pace to become strong, independent learners.
Our focus is learning through purposeful play, but most importantly we aim to make the Early Years experience a positive first exposure to learning, providing children with opportunities to develop a genuine passion and curiosity for learning.
We are an Early Years Foundation Stage setting, click below for more details.
We incorporate outdoor learning and play daily, with each class spending 1 to 2 sessions outside. We are fortunate to have our own recently refurbished garden and we make regular trips to Coronation Gardens, Wimbledon Park, local shops and Southfields Library.
We offer a variety of extra curricular activities as part of our standard curriculum (e.g. music and rugby tots). These may be led by our team members or by external instructors, depending on scheduling and the skills and expertise our team members bring to the setting. A team member may, for example, have a particular musical talent that we can share with children of all ages across the setting. Where we feel the children would benefit from outside expertise, we find the best external instructors we can. These have included rugby and tennis coaching and ballet instruction.
Please note that these activities are included in our nursery fees and may change without notice depending on the curriculum.
Outstanding communication is important to us. We update parents daily via Famly app, a market-leading iOS- and Android-compatible nursery app. Our teachers share pictures, EYFS development observations and daily diary entries (e.g., nappies, meals, sleeps), which parents can access and comment on at any time. A short parent intro video to Famly is available HERE.
In March and November we host parents evenings where you meet with your child’s Key Person. You will see samples of your child’s work and discuss how they are progressing through the EYFS development goals.
