Fellowship and Deliverables
Fellowship
The tenure of fellowship will be till the end of the 4th year of PhD for students from integrated courses and till the end of the 5th year of PhD for B.Tech., (or equivalent) students. For students selected through the lateral entry channel, the PMRF scholarship and obligations will continue only for the remainder of the student’s stay in the doctoral program. No retrospective payment will be made.

Contingency Fund
Apart from the fellowship, each scholar would be eligible for a research grant of Rs. 2 Lakhs per year (total of Rs 10 Lakhs for five years).

Teaching Assistantship
Each fellow is expected to teach once a week in a neighborhood ITI/Polytechnic/Engineering College, as per modalities approved by the Government This TA duty is an additional deliverable along with usual TA work at IITM. There should not be any compromise in the TA work at IITM as you are doing extra TA work outside the Institute.
The nature of additional TA work performed will be approved by the guide.
Six Monthly Internal Review
All PMRF scholars need to have a DC meeting every six months. Progress report should be filed in workflow.
Annual National Level Review
There will be an annual review for the PMRF scholars. The candidates would continue to avail the fellowship in the next year only if their performance is found satisfactory by the review committee. The review will be a rigorous process.
If the deliverables are not achieved, the fellowship will be brought down to the institutional fellowship level or even discontinued.
PMRF Symposium
This will be conducted by the National Co-ordinators.
