7th Grade

Monday, September 11th

The students worked so hard on their Engineering and Design Process- Water Tower projects! I am so excited about all of the hard work the students showed through these creations! Next to this, are some of the examples of Water Tower Designs that they were able to make.

This week the students are starting to wrap up the water tower project with a reflection on what they would have changed. We are then going to dive into the scientific method! The students learned about this last year and I am excited that they are going to expand on this topic. We are going to review, do a couple of experiments, and learn how to write a lab report! I am excited to watch the students review what we did last year and be able to expand and be challenged!

7th-grade science, we are working this week on our Water Tower- Engineering and Design Process Project. The students are challenged with making a water tower that goes to the hospital and school. They also need to come up with a solution to be able to block off the water supply to either the hospital or the school. Last week, the students came up with their designs and are now in the build stage. Stay tuned later this week to check out the pictures of the creations the students have made!

Monday, August 28th

This week in 7th-grade science we are reviewing the Engineering and Design Process. We are going through the steps of the process step by step. Throughout the steps, we are relating them back to some of the projects that we did last year, like our bridge project or the Mission to Mars.

We also have been able to talk about some scientists and engineers who went through the Engineering and Design Process, but maybe we're not as explicit in saying what steps they were on. I think this is important to note that all of them went through these steps in their career!

Soon, we will be starting an Engineering and Design Process project and we are getting through the review to start that process!

Welcome to 7th Grade Science! Below you will find an overview of 7th-grade science. Please know that some things are subject to change throughout the school year. I am so excited about the school year!
