BRIEF HISTORY OF SLSU LIBRARY
The College Library of Southern Luzon Polytechnic College in Lucban, Quezon was then first founded in 1964 when the Lucban Municipal Junior High School was established with total collections of 400 volumes of books. As it becomes a State College, it was transferred to its own library building occupying second and third floor. Because of the maximum use of the library, a more space was occupied with total collections of 10,275 volumes of books.
In February 2005, the long-awaited dream of an exclusive library building that will house all the collections in the different library units finally realized. The SLSU Library building was materialized through the effort of various people and organizations. The present University Library Building is a three-storey building. It is SLSU’s new center of knowledge. It houses different sections of the library, an audio-visual room, stack area, librarian’s office, internet room and spacious lobby. It has a total collection of 17, 427 volumes of books, journals for different core subjects and non-print materials. It has a fully automated library system.
