STEP ONE
Formal Observation
STEP 1: Getting a glimpse into your classroom, be it in person or virtual, is crucial to support your work! Your Supervisor and an ASL Language Specialist will observe a class of your choice and provide you with feedback.
Click on the link below to an authorization form so SLR can gain access to observe.
Once the formal observation concludes, your Supervisor and the ASL Language Specialist will send you an email with feedback attached in PDF form.
In your seventh year with SLR, you can be WAIVED on the review of your interpreting skills.
You will be reviewed on your employee performance.
IF you'd like to be voluntarily reviewed-you'll provide both source materials (ASL-Eng & Eng-ASL)

STEPS
Classroom Interpreting Sample
Select a class where you can showcase your work. Take into consideration the insight that comes from your formal observation.
You will need to upload this video to YouTube.
The link will need to be provided in the APR Questionnaire in the REQUIRED STEP section (below).
ASL-English Interpreting Sample
Select a source material that is reflective of your ASL- English skills for the grade level you work in.
If you get approval to work directly with the student(s) you interpret for daily, and submit that sample, that can work as your source material as well.
Upload your video to YouTube and share link on the Career Questionnaire in the REQUIRED STEP section (below).
Additionally, use this time to ask teachers, HES, admin for letters of feedback to upload to your APR Questionnaire in Step 4.
REQUIRED STEP
Keep us up to speed on your professional memberships, current workshop list, updates on credentialing, upload feedback letters, etc!
FINAL STEP
Annual Performance Review Meeting
Once the above STEPS are completed, your Supervisor will be in touch with you about dates/times for your official performance review meeting.
Be sure to revisit your five-minute classroom sample and your ASL-English work sample (if you opted to do this) prior to your discussion.
You will receive a copy of the performance review form on payroll. Please wait to get your Supervisor's scores and comments before adding your own.
When you have completed your scores and comments, remember to click SUBMIT.
