On Friday, March 29, members of the Sloan-Hendrix Art Club visited Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Eleven students, Mrs. Watson, and Mr. Gholson made the trip. They enjoyed many rides, demonstrations, and exhibits.

The Sloan-Hendrix Odyssey of the Mind teams took part in the state competition in North Little Rock during March 29-30. Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment. Both the S-H midddle school and high school teams qualified at regionals in February to compete in the state competition. The high school team came in third at state which allows them to move on to the World Competition which will be held in Michigan in May. The high school team members are Erin Smith, Rebecca Simington, Sarah Scales, Kaylee Hoffman, and Emily Tidwell. Mrs. Melanie Stephens is the team coach.

The Sloan-Hendrix Color Guard Team attended the Winter Guard Competition at Springfield, Missouri, during March 8-9. Although the team did not perform, they went to cheer on the other competitors and to learn from observation. Team members attending included Kaylee Hoffman, Sarah Scales, Rebecca Simmington, Addison Doney, and Rachel Jines. The team was accompanied by their instructor, Mrs. DeShazo.
