Character Creation

I made myself using the Fuse app. My character does not look like me but it's close enough. I wish they would've had more hair and clothing to choose from.

"The Rule of Thirds" Reflection

The rule of thirds is to break an image into thirds horizontally and vertically until you have 9 parts. There should be four lines going all the way across and down. The rule of thirds resembles a grid over your photo. One thing I found interesting was the subject should not be centered.

"How to Use Lines in Photography Composition" Reflection

The article "How to Use Lines in Photography Composition" is about how different types of lines can emanate different types of emotions. Horizontal lines indicates a sense of homeostasis. Vertical lines projects stability. Diagonal lines make an image more dynamic. And jagged and irregular lines impart an uncomfortable feeling to the viewer. After reading this article, I learned that if I want to set a mood for my photo, I should target a specific type of line.


"Visual Design: Using Shape in Photography" Reflection

Shapes are one of the six classic design elements. Negative shapes are made by objects around it. Shapes can send different messages because of the individuality of size, color, and form. To use shape effectively, take photos from a different angle or position the focus of the photo differently to compliment the shapes.

"Visual Design: Finding Form in Photography" Reflection

The difference between shape and form is that shape is 2 dimensional and focuses on the outline of an object while form is 3 dimensional and shows depth. The best lighting for form photos is during "golden-hour".
