A Christmas twist on a classic favourite much loved by the English staff base!
Ingredients
300g Chocolate Orange (I prefer Terry's Chocolate Orange)
100g Dark Chocolate
150g Butter or Baking Spread like Stork
4 tbsp golden syrup
150g Mini Marshmallows (veggie mini marshmallows available in Sainsbury's!)
250g Digestive Biscuits
Optional - Icing sugar to dust
Utensils
Heatproof bowl (Metal or glass)
Pot
Tin or Casserole Dish
Wooden Spoon
Rolling pin
Sandwich Bag or Clean Towel
Sieve
Method
Line a tin/casserole dish with baking paper.
Break chocolate orange and dark chocolate into small chunks and add to a heatproof bowl.
Add butter and golden syrup.
Place the bowl on a double boiler - keep at a low heat and continue to stir until fully melted and combined.
Remove the bowl from heat and leave to cool for 5 minutes.
Bash the digestives to small pieces in a sandwich bag or clean towel. Big chunks are good - do not bash it too hard.
Once chocolate mixture has cooled, add bashed digestives and marshmallows to the mixture and stir until combined.
Pour into your lined tin/dish and spread so it's even.
Leave in fridge for a minimum of 4 hours, although can be left overnight.
Once set, sieve a teaspoon of icing sugar for decoration and cut into desired slices.
Enjoy!
