Design thinking and discovery learning were terms I thought I did not know much about. Upon further exploration, I understand discovery learning as learning with minimal guidance and an act of self discovery. Design thinking is human centered design focused on solving problems for users. Originally, it was used in business models and continues to be used by businesses. Upon comparison to other models of inquiry, I discovered it is similar to other models of inquiry by going through various processes or steps individually or with a group of learners. The main difference of design thinking is that the central focus is to solve a problem for a user. I look forward to creating more lessons using design thinking, so I can solidify my understanding of this model.
