Making sure that this population is represented in the collection is another important aspect of providing culturally appropriate library services. Gathering input from the community directly via a meeting or survey is useful in gathering information, but the questions must be thoughtfully considered to be relevant and incisive. Another way to provide culturally appropriate services is by incorporating books on Indian American culture into storytimes and family programming in order to raise awareness and combat negative, harmful, and racist stereotypes.
