Each year, the College of Social Sciences celebrates our staff, faculty, and alumni with our distinguished awards. Please consider submitting a nomination for one of our awards. Self-nominations are accepted for: Meritorious Service award, Staff Excellence in Service award, and Teaching Excellence Awards. All materials are submitted via Google Form (nominee information and uploaded nomination materials). Below are the descriptions of the awards with links to the call for nominations and the nominating form for each award.

The College of Social Sciences presents two Teaching Excellence Awards, one to a tenured or tenure track faculty member, and one to a lecturer faculty member. Awardees will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in the opinion of their peers and students.
The Meritorious Service Award was established to recognize distinguished service in Department, College, and University elected bodies and/or effective leadership in advancing the interests of the faculty in the College of Social Sciences and the University.
The Staff Excellence in Service Award was established to recognize a College of Social Sciences staff member who exemplifies a record of sustained and excellent service to students, faculty and staff, departments, the College, University or the community.
The Warburton Award of Merit recognizes a tenured faculty member to acknowledge their scholarly achievement as demonstrated by an outstanding level of publications, delivery of papers or presentations of scholarly and creative works and have significant impact upon a field of scholarship in the Social Sciences.
The Outstanding Alumni Award was established to recognize alumni who are making an important contribution to the College and encourage them to remain connected with the College.
The Social Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have contributed to the core mission of the College of Social Sciences that states, “Our work leads to a more just, adaptable, and sustainable society which supports lives that are meaningful, creative, and productive.”
