FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an intense, varsity-style "sport of the mind" where high school students combine the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Each January, teams receive a new game challenge and have a limited timeframe to design, build, and program industrial-sized robots weighing up to 125 pounds to compete in district events, with the opportunity to qualify for the State and World Championship.
The Average Joes (FRC Team 3620) represents St. Joseph High School students. Beyond engineering and competitive robot design, the Joes focus on developing Sustainable Skills, creating Joyful Memories, and delivering Rewarding Experiences. Team members gain hands-on experience in CAD, machining, coding, electronics, business operations, marketing, and community outreach—fostering leadership and teamwork both on and off the field.
