Russell has over a decade of experience coaching in education and he set up the SJI International Professional Coaching Programme in 2014, which he has run for over a decade and co-leads strategic planning, training, and internal Coach Supervision. Trained in the full CTI core curriculum as a Co-Active Coach, he has personally accrued over 500 coaching-hours with educators including principals, middle leaders and classroom teachers. Formally a Co-Chair for Programmes on the ICF Singapore EXCO, Russell co-founded CoachUP with Stephen in 2021. The Professional Coaching Programme has delivered over 2,000 coaching-hours and has empowered dozens of staff as they develop new initiatives, rise through the school ranks or gain promotions externally.
With 30 years of experience in teaching and school leadership, Kathryn Hemming is a Singapore-based executive coach who works globally to develop and empower leaders. She is the MSB Relationship Lead for Southeast Asia and China, building strong connections across the region. Kathryn’s coaching is grounded in empathy, deep listening, and positive relationships. She supports leaders to reflect, challenge assumptions, and lead authentically, drawing on her extensive experience, research, and educational practice. Her work focuses on building self-awareness, confidence, & emotional intelligence to create lasting impact through strong relationships and effective systems.
Stephen is a seasoned Executive Co-Active Coach and The Virtues Project™ Practitioner with nearly a decade of professional coaching experience and 17 years in international education. He holds the PCC (ICF) and EIA (EMCC) credentials, reflecting his commitment to excellence in the field. As a proactive member of the SJI International community, he serves as a Professional Coach, Music Teacher, and joint coordinator of the in-house Professional Coaching Programme, where he co-leads planning, training, and Coach Supervision. Stephen is also a leading voice in the CoachUpSG movement and is a Membership Ambassador for ICF Singapore Chapter.
Lavan is a certified Professional Coach (CPCC, ACC) and ICF member, with over five years’ experience coaching professionals in leadership effectiveness, decision-making, and clarity. He currently serves as Head of Biology and Outdoor Education Leader, and is actively involved in his school’s Professional Coaching Programme, supporting the development of leaders across the SJI International community. With over 15 years of leadership experience in complex educational systems in the UK and Singapore, Lavan partners with leaders to strengthen their voice, presence, and confidence as they navigate high-stakes, ambiguous environments. His coaching is rigorous, outcomes-focused, and grounded in a deep understanding of organisational dynamics, power, and human performance.
Jared is a Chemistry Teacher and Co-Active Coach from SJII. With a background in science education, educational leadership and instructional coaching, Jared is a new member of the coaches at SJII and recently finished his Co-Active coaching training. Quickly engaging with the program, Jared has been an active member by co-leading and planning professional coaching training for other coaches at the school. Jared also has experience in finance coaching and enjoys using a hybrid model of educating and coaching to help people gain confidence and clarity in their finances.
