特别是在如今数字干扰无所不在的时代，时间管理非常重要。我这方面吃了不少亏，很多时候感觉很忙，但是效率不高，成果也不够。直到2017年读到伦敦商学院著名金融学教授Alex Edmans写的关于时间管理的博文（http://alexedmans.com/time-management-tips-to-boost-your-productivity/ ）。他不但是他那一代产出最高的几名金融学者之一，还当期刊主编，写畅销书，参加很多社会和企业活动（担任几个机构的董事）。我采用了一些时间管理方法后，确实提高了效率。我还在2018年写了一个相关的博客（https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/531337946 ）。 另外，Edmans还在2019年写了一个关于时间管理的短文（https://www.gresham.ac.uk/sites/default/files/2019-10-02_AlexEdmans-TimeManagement-T.pdf ），推荐大家去读读，从这个文章中你也可以发现，他读了很多时间管理的书籍和一手学术研究，对世界管理极度重视，这也许是他成功的主要原因。
上周天还读了一个金融学牛人写的PPT，是讲如何做研究的（这位16年前毕业的牛人在三大期刊和QJE,AER,JPE上发表了20篇论文）。他也提到了时间管理的重要性。其中他推荐了油管网上卡内基梅隆大学终身教授Randy Pausch的关于时间管理（time management）的演讲。这个演讲被观看了近三百万次。非常推荐！如果不能看视频，可以读字幕和PPT

在国外，时间管理方面最畅销的书《深度工作》（https://book.douban.com/subject/27056409/ ）也是值得一读的。好玩的是，该书的作者也是一名大学教授，MIT的博士。
最后，对于一位学者，时间管理比一般人更为重要。这是因为，公司里上班的人是受人管理的，他们的时间几乎都是上级或同事安排好了的。相反，学者的时间比较灵活，除了上课，大部分都要自己管理，如果不认真管理，时间很快就被浪费了。时间管理水平的高低就大大影响学术成就。
