Congratulations to the 9 high school students who have successfully completed their research projects in the 7th Annual Summer Research Program for High School Students (SBU-SRP4HS) . A total of 5 science faculty, 3 undergraduates worked with them in De La Roche Hall and Walsh Science Center on SBU campus for two weeks. A high-resolution single-molecule sequencing-based Arabidopsis transcriptome is published in Genome Biology. Xiao-Ning Zhang co-authored this paper along with scientists from about 20 other research institutions around the world!

The ASBMB Student Chapter at SBU gave a talk titled "What is for dinner?" and offered the Nutrition Game to the audience at "Science On Tap" to promote health awareness and interventions through nutrition and exercise.

The ASBMB Student Chapter at SBU offered a STEAM activity, Fruit DNA Necklace, to about 100 children and community members at Southwestern Elementary School STEAM Night event. The first in-person community outreach after 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic!
