Caught By Traffic

Caught by Traffic is a series of collaborative, process driven installations and experiments in urban spaces.

The project aims to reimagine or reconfigure the city from the perspective of the driver of public transport vehicles

as it explores the aesthetics of modified cars and the organisation of public infrastructures.

The form of public transport that is focused on is that which exists in between formal and informal modes of operation.

The project is an ongoing multi-site work that has been carried out in Dakar, Durban and Bangalore.

Important to this project are processes and methods from the visual arts that deployed in order to interrogate authoritative narratives

and to produce new forms of knowledge through a focus on the aesthetic.

The Project can be viewed via the websites, as well as through the published catalogues and article below.
