Directions

From Sacramento take exit #131 (Weimar Cross Rd) off of I-80 near Applegate and stay right and immediately turn left onto Canyon Way. Follow Canyon Way for ~2.2 miles to Yankee Jims Road (turn right). From Truckee take exit #133 (Placer Hills Rd) from I-80 north of Applegate and make a clockwise circle over the interstate by turning right onto S Auburn St and immediately turning right to pass over the interstate and meet up with Canyon Way. Turn right onto Canyon Way and follow it for ~0.8 miles before turning left onto Yankee Jims Road. Follow Yankee Jims Rd for ~5.6 miles to to where a narrow and steep trail should be off the left side of the road leading down to Shirrtail Creek (~0.9 miles after crossing over the North Fork American River & ~0.3 miles past Devils Falls). Watch out for ticks.
