What is the Taxpayer Advocate Service?

The Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) is an independent organization within the IRS. Their goal is to ensure that every taxpayer is treated fairly and that they know and understand their rights. Their advocates can help if a taxpayer have tax problems that they can’t resolve on your own.
