Supplies Required:
1. "Zea" handout (below)
2. projector and speakers to play video (link below)
3. pencils and sketchbooks (or blank paper)
4. popcorn and paper towels (for movie)
5. small pieces of black construction paper
Part One:
1. Hand out below, titled "zea"
2. Instruct the students that this is a very short video (5 minutes). Their task is to figure out what the object is as they watch the video. Once they have figured out the object, they must keep it to themselves. If they have seen this video before, they must keep it to themselves.
3. Hand out popcorn to the students as they enjoy the video.

Part Two:
1. Hand out "there's no right way to draw"
2. Students are drawing their "object" in their sketchbooks as best they can. Full 20-30 minutes looking closely at the object. This is a diagnostic drawing.
3. It helps if they have a small piece of black construction paper underneath their object to see better.
4. Once they are finished their drawing, collect all objects onto a tray and see if they can find their object again!
5. If you have more time, they can change their "object" into something else using their imagination (see handout)
