August 18, 2024
Dear SGM Robert L. Wilburn, Sr.,
Greater Love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends (John 15:13). Therefore, by the power vested in me by the Alumni of Richard Berry Harrison High School/Harrisonites, Incorporated, We say thank you very much for your service to defend our nation and freedom.
Your bravery, sacrifice, and strength have not gone unnoticed, and we will always be indebted to you and your family for all that you have given to this country. We will never forget your sacrifice.
You put your life on hold to serve our nation during a time when people of color were being treated as second class citizen. Words cannot express the gratitude and admiration we feel for you. You are our hero and we salute you for your devotion, Commitment, Loyalty, allegiance, dedication and duty. We congratulate you for being one of the honorees at the white house for your service during the Vietnam War.
May God bless and protect you is our hope and prayer.
Grateful,
Geneva Aldridge Harris, President

Dear Mr. Robert,
I knew it was something special about you when I met you during the Harrisonites, Incorporated Reunion 2019. It was your first reunion and you proved to be one that we could depend on to serve our organization in a very special way. I am writing to say, I recently learned that service is what you do for others and to thank you for your service and sacrifice to the United States of America.
You are the G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Times) when it come to serving your family, country and friends. I commend you for that Christ like quality. We as human are called to serve and no one can do it better than you.
I was elated to hear that you were being honor by the White House for your service in the Vietnam War. I congratulate you for being an honoree and for your devotion to duty during the Vietnam War. The bible teaches us to give honor to which honor is due. For your unwavering devotion to duty, I salute you for a job well-done.
I presented you with a diamond during our 2024 Reunion because of your willingness to serve as the Reunion Song Leader. I now know that you not only shine like a diamond, but you are also a bright star for our country. The bible says that we are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden, neither should men light a candle and put it under a bushel but place it on a candlestick so that it gives light to all that are in the house. SGM Robert L. Wilburn. Sr., let your light continue to shine so that men may see your good works and glorify Our Father in heaven.
I consider it a blessing and a privilege to know such a great man. You are truly special and extraordinary. Thank you for all that you have done, are doing and will do in the future.
Kudos,
Geneva Aldridge Harris
