Dear Harrisonites,

It has been sixty-six days since Reunion 2026 closed. As you can see time waits for no organization. If you attended the reunion, thank you for your presence. If you did not make it, you missed a treat. It was a great reunion, but the best is yet to be determined. We came to a fork in the road at the 2026 business meeting. Those present decided to move forward rather than fold. I am of the belief that our actions will determine moving forward. I am writing to inform you of the status of Harrisonites, Incorporated as of today.

During the Business Meeting, items were discussed concerning the preservation of the organization. The first order of business is to update the Constitution to meet our future needs. The Constitution Committee was charged with that duty. The Constitution and By-Laws are posted on the website for your convenience. Secondly, we discovered according to the Constitution and practices, membership dues obligations are not met annually (Article lll-Membership, Section l-Alumni and Article Xl-Dues and Fees). This is a practice that will change to comply with the Constitution and By-Laws. We have not assessed membership dues since my administration. We have been foregoing the charge thus causing us to maintain the upkeep of the organization from the limited funds leftover after the reunion. This is no longer feasible to keep the organization running. It is necessary that we comply with the Constitution to have funds for operational needs. I have discussed this problem with the Finance Committee, and we have determined that we must enforce the Constitution to move forward. We will send notifications in the first week of July of every year that your membership dues are due by the first day of August each year. We voted in the 2024 Business Meeting to raise the dues to twenty dollars annually and never enforced it. In the 2026, Business Meeting we voted to enforce the twenty dollars payment of dues annually starting in 2027. Some members paid their forty dollars dues for 2027 and 2028 during the meeting. The list is posted on the website. If your 2027 and 2028 dues of twenty dollars are not paid on time, we will not accept your Reunion 2028 fees until you have met your membership requirement. National and local officers elected and appointed must meet eligibility requirements (Article V-Nominations and Elections, Section lll-Eligibility Requirements and Section IV-Local/State Officers).

I resigned my position as reunion coordinator. We need a replacement as soon as possible. Reunion 2028 will be here before we realize it. The committee will need time to organize and plan. If you are interested in the challenge, please make your wish known. If we cannot find a coordinator, Reunion 2028 will not be possible. I will not coordinate another reunion. I will execute the office of president until 2028. There are other items that will be addressed later. These are the most pressing items currently. If you are interested in serving this organization in any compacity, please notify us. It is my pleasure to serve, and I look forward to the service other will provide in keeping Harrisonites, Incorporated perpetual.
