Greetings,

I am giving glory to God that we had the excellent opportunity of being educated in a predominately-Black institution.  The stories we now tell are those of struggle, inequality, adversity, lack, and failure.  Yet in that same breath of storytelling, we tell of triumph, equality, good times, privileges, and success.  How can one entwine these opposites into one?  By being in attendance at the 2024 Reunion of the Richard Berry Harrison High School, that 'Little School on Elm Street'.   The home of the Mighty, Mighty, Dragon.  Welcome to the circle of Life.  A weekend of enjoyment, amusement, serenity, sovereignty, and recollection.

Our theme is "Spirit of the Harrisonites” and our theme song is "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" by Julia Ward-Howe.  We the hosting committee would like to guarantee that we never forget where we came from and what it took to get us here.  Therefore, we have elected to return to our "Roots" by celebrating our modest beginning.  We have to remember where we came from to appreciate how far we have come.  Our past positively affects our future.

As we go back to those dark days, let us review them in the light that they produce.  Let us sing our Reunion Song in the tune of “Glory, Glory Hallelujah “with a deeper meaning because we have so much to be thankful for.  The battle is not over but the fight is not as intense.

As we salute the fine work of the Harrisonites and Guests in the field of medicine.  Let us be mindful of one lesson they taught, that a life is a terrible thing to waste.  We thank them foremost for their unwavering service and we thank you for being here to commemorate them.

By the authority given to me by Harrisonites, Incorporated, I declare Reunion 2024 open for business and high spirit.  If we can be of service to you in anyway, please do not hesitate to allow us to assist you.  The Blytheville Alumni Association of Harrisonites, Incorporated, and your host committee is on notice that you are to be treated like African Kings and Queens.

Harrisonites Forever,

Harrison, My Harrison

In the great state of Arkansas,

Harrison, My Harrison,

Students gather here from near and far,

Harrison, My Harrison.

Give to them all, thy wisdom store

Courage, and love and light and lore;

And we'll be true for ever more

Harrison, My Harrison.

We humbly bow before thy shrine

Harrison, My Harrison

Ardent worshippers we'll be of thine,

Harrison, My Harrison.

We all go forth thy praise to sing,

In peace and war, sunshine and rain,

Thy message to the world proclaim

Harrison, My Harrison.

LIFE BY THE SPIRIT

13. You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.  But, do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather serve one another humbly in love.

14. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

15. If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

16.  So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.  17. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh.  They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

18. But, if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

20. Idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions

21. And envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.  I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22. But, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness

23.  Gentleness and self-control, against such things there is no law.

24. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25. Since, we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

26.  Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other.

 “Glory, Glory Hallelujah”

                                                            Or

 “Battle Hymn of Republic”

Soong Leader: Robert L. Wilburn, Sr.-‘57

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored:

He hath loosed the fatal lightning and of His terrible swift sword:

His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fire of a hundred circling camps;

They have built Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;

I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps,

His Day is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel, writ in burnished row of steel;

“As ye deal with my condemners’, so with you my grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman; crush the serpent with his heel,

Since God is marching on.”

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;

He is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgment-seat;

Oh!  Be swift, my soul to answer Him!  Be jubilant, my feet!

Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,

With a glory in His bosom, that transfigures you and me:

As he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free.

While God is marching on.

Chorus:

Glory, glory hallelujah.

Glory, glory hallelujah

Glory, glory hallelujah.

Our God is marching on.

HARRISONITES, INCORPORATED

Dear Harrisonites and Guests,

You are being awarded five stars for reaching the goal of 💯 paid Harrisonites by Monday, July 1!

We applaud your response to our plea.  We knew in our hearts you would reach that goal.  Thank you for coming through and making the reunion a reality.

We are sending this text as a reminder and to caution you that our vendors will need the number of guests we expect by July 15.  We have 133 Harrisonites and guests paid in full.  We have submitted a count of 150.  We will only make accommodations for that number unless we go over by July 15.  If you register on site, there is a strong possibility we will not be able to accommodate you.  That would be a travesty.

We are ordering the personalized souvenirs to be given to paid Harrisonites only.  We will order 125!  The first 125 registered Harrisonites will receive those souvenirs. The rest will receive a different souvenir that will not be personalized.  If you have not remitted your registration fee and wish to receive a personalized souvenir, we caution you to do it ASAP!

There is a time restraint on ordering personalized items.

We would also like to remind you that 12:00 midnight July 15 is the deadline for registration without a late fee of $10. There will be no refunds after 12:00 Midnight July 15

Greetings,

Kudos to you for making Reunion  2024 a reality!  We knew you could and would meet that July 1 goal of 100 paid Harrisonites and guest.  As promised, we will proceed with our plans to make this the best reunion ever!

We thank you for your sacrifice and speedy response to the goal set.  Now that we have reached that goal, let’s continue to encourage our schoolmates to please make an effort to join us.  The more the merrier!  We are in the third and fourth quarters of our lives, we can’t calculate when our last opportunity to meet will come.  Let’s make the best of Reunion 2024 and celebrate it as if it is the last one.  We have a new goal for July 15, 2024 of 125 Harrisonites and guest.  We hope you will help us achieve that goal.  A friendly reminder that after July 15, a late fee of $10 will be charged!

Thank you for your cooperation and for making Reunion 2024 a part of our future.  We look forward to meeting, greeting and fellowshipping with you.  We have only 36 days left before the three days of fun, laughter, joy and love begin.

Thankful,

NOTICE: If you are viewing this site on any device, look at the upper left of the screen, there are 3 horizontal lines this is the  "Hamburger Menu Drawer" touch and it will expose all of the pages. Hope this is of help to some!

I, Kenneth King, am doing Harrisonites work every day. Please accept as your receipt on the Commitment Page in the Paid Column if it is "pink" and your class year is listed, That means we have received your money!  Thank You!

Dear Committed Harrisonites,

I hope this appeal finds you well and looking forward to Reunion 2024 on August 1, 2 and 3, 2024  We are writing to let you know that we have concerns about the number of paid attendance and the reality of successfully having the reunion.

We assume you have all been on some planning committee, during your lifetime.  If so, you know that it is extremely important to know an approximate number of people to submit to vendors for food, souvenirs, seating, etc.

We have been closely monitoring the remittance of reunion fees.  The slow payments are causing us to wonder if we will be able to make good on the itinerary that is posted on the website.

We are sure you know that the more people we have,  the less we have to pay for certain services.  Today, we have 44 paid Harrisonites and 10 guests, for a total of 54 paid attendees  We originally stated that we need commitments from at least 100 people to even think of having a reunion.  If you do the math we are 46 short of that 100 goal.

If you are serious about your attendance, we beg of you to please send your fees as soon as possible.  We have set a deadline of July 1, 2024 to get our fees up to 100.  If we cannot get our numbers up, we are considering canceling the reunion for a lack of interest and funds.  We do not want to have this reunion and get left holding an outstanding balance to be paid by the committee.

We have done all we can do to plan this reunion that you requested.  The time is past due for you to hold up your end of the bargain.

Class representative and classmates, please look at the commitment list and light a fire under your classmates.

Thank you for your compliance and help in this matter.
