Emotions in Romeo and Juliet

In this section of our webpage we want to show you what we have been working on this year. We have carried out a lot of tasks, but for us the most interesting one was the one about "Emotions in Romeo and Juliet". For those of you who don't remember the story, we will remind you. Romeo and Juliet first met at the Capulets' party and they fell in love. But then a lot of misfortunes happened: the death of Mercutio (Romeo's best friend) , Romeo kills Tybalt for revenge; after that, Juliet fakes her death, but Romeo thinks that she died and he takes some poison and dies just when Juliet is waking up to see Romeo dead. Tears fall from her eyes and in the end she decides to kill herself with Romeo's dagger. After all these tragedies , the Capulets (Juliet's family) and the Montagues (Romeo's family) make peace and they promise there won't be any further clashes.

Nowadays, teenagers all over the world don´t really know about the importance of these feelings (love, hate, revenge, anger, frustration, jealousy,...) and they ignore them. However, they could avoid things like what happened to Romeo and Juliet. We have done some presentations on Popplet to show you these feelings and how they appear in the play. For us, the best Popplets are these three:

THE MOST IMPORTANT EMOTIONS IN ROMEO AND JULIET:

Love: Like the love between Romeo and Juliet.

Hate: like the one between the Capulets and Montagues.

Sadness: like the one the reader feels when Romeo and Juliet die.

Friendship: like the one between Romeo and Mercutio.

Anger: almost all the characters are angry and aggressive.
