Josh Roberts

Worship Leading background:

I’ve been singing in church since my childhood but began leading worship just after graduating from high school. I’ve been playing on worship teams for the past twenty-five years and have been a worship pastor/leader for the past twelve serving at Riverside Wesleyan Church and River City Calvary Chapel, and guest leading at Faith Legacy Church, Bayside Woodland, Spring Valley Church, and many others in the greater Sacramento area.

Instrument I lead with: Voice and guitar.(acoustic and electric)

Styles of worship I can lead. (Hymns, contemporary, modern etc.):

I am comfortable leading in all worship styles, but contemporary and modern worship is where I am most comfortable. I grew up singing the hymns, so they are quite special to me, but they rarely translate well to guitar (I can still hear all the chord extensions and passing tones on the organ!).

Personal:

Born and raised in the church, I’m not at all sure when I “became” a Christian, but I made a very conscious decision to follow Christ when I was sixteen years old. I make my living as a professor at Sacramento City College, but leading God’s people in worship is my passion.
