During this workshop some of the latest results and new trends in the study of partial differential equations related to the mechanics of solids and fluids will be discussed, with special interest on the fluid-structure interaction, contact problems and the use of asymptotic analysis techniques.
The lectures of the first day will focus on the application of the technique of asymptotic analysis to the study of problems in fluid mechanics and fluid-structure interaction. On the second day some challenging problems on contact, friction conditions at the boundary and derivation of new models for viscoelastic shells will be presented.
