Saint Wilfrid - England's Greatest Bishop and inspiration for today
An introduction to one of England's greatest saints, who lived in the Seventh Century, visited Rome three times, was a powerful missionary, built many churches, and the magnificent Abbeys/Cathedrals at Hexham, Ripon, York and elsewhere, but was powerful and assertive and did not always work well with those with whom he came in touch (two of his visits to Rome were to appeal against the decisions of the Archbishop of Canterbury).
Also covered are both the impact of Monasticism, the Rule of St Benedict, and the Pastoral Guidelines of St. Gregory the Great, all in current and widespread use. The Rule of Benedict for example is understood to have been used on a course at London Business School as an effective way to run a company.
