Welcome to MadMeta!

UPDATE (Aug. 13, 2021): The 16th Annual Madison Metaethics Workshop will be held in a hybrid format, rather than exclusively in-person, as originally planned. The dates of the workshop remain the same: Sept. 17-19, 2021. We are hoping for a good in-person turnout at the workshop venue (UW-Madison's Pyle Center, 702 Langdon Street). Participants can instead access the workshop with Zoom, via a link that will be available to all registrants a few days prior to the workshop. Off-site registrants will be able to virtually attend all talks and fully participate in the Q and A sessions after each talk.

MadMeta is designed to provide an annual forum for new work in metaethics, broadly construed to range across issues in the metaphysics, semantics, and epistemology of morality, as well as issues concerning moral motivation and the relation between morality and practical reason. The workshop offers opportunities for speakers to receive constructive feedback from interested colleagues, and for other participants to become acquainted with new work in the field.
