About Willow Creek Highlands

Willow Creek Highlands is an exclusive family neighborhood located in the Town of Silverthorne, CO.

The photo below looks to the West and shows our location with Buffalo Mountain to the upper left, Red Peak above, and the East Thorne Spire to the upper right. Red Buffalo Pass is in the gap between Buffalo Mtn and Red Peak. Eccles pass is just behind the right side of Buffalo Mountain. Willow and Salmon lakes are just below the Spire. Hwy 9 is at the bottom of the photo.

Our neighborhood is on the eastern slopes of the magnificent Gore Mountain Range with views of Buffalo Mountain, Red Peak, and the impressive East Thorne Spire. The Willow Creek trailhead is our back door to miles of hiking trails in the Town of Silverthorne Open Space and the Eagle's Nest Wilderness area. These trails link our neighborhood to the shores of Lake Dillon and Green Mountain Reservoir, and over high mountain passes to the cities of Vail and Frisco. Spectacular high alpine lakes are just a few (but steep) miles hike into the Gore range. Paved bike paths connect you to Keystone, Breckenridge, Frisco, Copper Mountain, and beyond Vail.

We enjoy an abundance of wildlife and frequently see deer, moose and fox. Occasionally, Rocky Mountain goats, mountain lion, black bear, and bighorn sheep are seen in our yards or the nearby forest (our extended backyards). Our summers are shared with many birds including eagles, hawks, osprey, and crows. Many hummingbirds are attracted to amazing wildflower displays.

Located in Summit County, we have easy access to world class skiing, mountain biking, dining, fishing, backpacking, hunting, rafting, golf, bike paths, concerts, shopping, and just about any other mountain activity that you can think of. The Denver Metro area is about an hour away via I-70 where you can enjoy a variety of college or professional sports, or take in an evening concert or theater performance. If you travel west on I-70, you will find Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction on your way to Utah's famous red slickrock and arches.

The Willow Creek Highlands at Silverthorne subdivision is in the Town of Silverthorne and our water/sewer/streets are provided and maintained by the Town. The HOA owns no common property, so our annual dues stay low and are used to pay for the usual HOA officer/committee insurance, mailbox insurance for the local delivery of postal service mail, and a couple of neighborhood parties (one in the summer with our HOA Annual meeting, and another in the winter). The HOA maintains a small reserve fund to help with any unexpected HOA related expenses. The HOA specifies that a standing committee (Architectural Control Committee, or ACC) is responsible, with the Board, to review new construction/remodel plans, and ensure that our HOA Covenant restrictions and design guidelines are followed. In general, the WCH Owners are very supportive of this effort and there are very few violations. We are proud to live in an attractive and desirable neighborhood. One oddity of our subdivision's governance is that while joining the HOA (and paying the small annual dues) is optional, all property/homeowners are legally required to abide by the covenants/restrictions and architectural guidelines regardless of joining the HOA, or not.

The unique combination of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the best neighbors in the world, who share a love for mountain living, make WillowCreek Highlands a wonderful place to call home.
