Electronic voting systems such as TurningPoint have been shown to be an effective way to improve student engagement and satisfaction in lectures through providing students with a method of real time interaction. While the success of voting systems is nothing new, it is well known that the system presents a logistical challenge when up scaled to large student numbers. This project investigated three methods to allow students to use their own mobile internet devices, and settled on the use of TurningPoint ResponseWare to remove the physical need for a handset. The presentation reports back with feedback from students gathered through an online survey about their experiences. I will also provide some tips that I have built up through using TurningPoint with a large cohort.
