Dear West Laurel Neighbor,
With WLCA's fiscal year now running from January 1 to December 31, this is the time to please pay your annual WLCA dues -- only $20 per household, or $1 for those on a fixed income who feel the $20 payment would strain your budget. These dues payments, as well as your generous donations, enable our civic association to function and entitle your family to vote in our elections, on our budget, and other key decisions. West Laurel residents should soon also receive a membership letter requesting your support for this year.
For those who are new neighbors, WLCA is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that was formed when the first homes were built in West Laurel, and it continues to work to protect the quality of life and improve our community, participate in civic activities affecting West Laurel, and encourage participation in government. This first meeting of 2024 is a good opportunity for West Laurel household members to confirm their appreciation for the WLCA with dues payment.
Whether you own or rent your property, your dues are critical in maintaining our presence in your community!
WLCA membership is a superb value. Dues pay for our HOTLINE newsletter, secure paper-shredding services for our dues-paying members, arrange twice-annual Dumpster Days, and provide for some services to seniors. WLCA dues also support several worthwhile community organizations. Your dues also allow our civic association to advocate on your behalf, including representing the community at public hearings and forums, providing input into legislation, working on multiple zoning projects, negotiating with developers, and working to get needed road repairs and even some road resurfacing and safer road signage.
To join the WLCA for 2024, please (1) make your check payable to WLCA and either mail it to Jeff Jenkins, WLCA Treasurer, PO Box 387, Laurel, MD, 20725, or bring it to the WLCA general meeting, February 15, 7:30 PM at the West Laurel Community building OR (2) Pay via PayPal by following the instructions below!
