Participation is the "secret sauce" of our program. Here are some ways you can help keep our program great.

Assistant Scoutmaster

Assists the Scoutmaster in delivering the troop program.

Committee Member

The committee conducts the business of the troop, helps the Scoutmaster and Scouts with the program activities and conducts Boards of Review. Here are some of the primary responsibilities of each committee position.

  • Activities Coordinator - Secures permission to use camping sites. Coordinates transportation. Ensures a monthly outdoor program. Promotes attendance at activities.

  • Advancement Coordinator - Encourage Scouts to advance in rank. Arranges Courts of Honor and Boards of Review. Secures awards. Works with the Librarian to build and maintain a library of merit badge pamphlets and other advancement literature.

  • Chaplain - Provides a spiritual tone for meetings and activities. Gives guidance to the Chaplain Aide. Encourages Scouts to earn their appropriate religious emblems.

  • Chartered Organization Representative - Serves as liaison between the troop and our chartered organization. Assists with rechartering. Encourages service to the chartered organization. Helps recruit adult leaders.

  • Committee Chair - Organizes the committee to see that all functions are delegated, coordinated, and completed. Prepares committee meeting agendas. Presides over committee meetings. Arranges for annual charter review and recharter.

  • Education Coordinator - Ensures leaders and committee members have opportunities for training. Responsible for BSA Youth Protection training within the troop. Encourages periodic junior leader training within the troop and at the council and national levels.

  • Equipment Coordinator - Helps procure camping equipment. Works with the Quartermaster on inventory and proper storage and maintenance of equipment.

  • Health and Safety Coordinator - Obtain medical forms for scouts. Ensure proper adult safety training and supervision at activities. Maintain a troop first aid kit.

  • Membership Coordinator - Develop a plan for year-round membership flow into the troop. Assist with transition of Webelos and non-scouts into the troop.

  • Popcorn Coordinator - Coordinate Show 'n Sells. Attend popcorn meetings. Manage popcorn order sheets, product distribution and raised funds.

  • Secretary - Keeps minutes of meetings and sends out committee meeting notices. Handles publicity.

  • Treasurer - Handles all troop funds. Pays bills on recommendation of the Scoutmaster and authorization of the committee. Maintains checking and savings accounts. Supervises money-earning projects, including obtaining proper authorizations. Leads the preparation of the annual budget.
