Please note, this event was NOT organized by Friends of Watson Park, so we can't answer your questions about it, but we strongly encourage you to explore the Save the Bay Website and volunteer at future cleanup events.

Thank you to Save the Bay for cleaning up the section of Coyote Creek that runs to the East of Watson Park, and also for taking the time to pick up litter in the park itself! Volunteers went above and beyond and we are very grateful.

75 volunteers gave their Saturday morning to make Coyote Creek, and the San Francisco Bay downstream, cleaner.

Friends of Watson Park, Chuck, Linda, Yuki, Malissa, Tony, Aric and Carol were on hand to help clean up and also gave out snacks and frisbees.

Save the Bay organizers provided instructions on what to pick up - and what NOT to pick up. They did all they could to make a yucky job fun and provided useful information about the benefits of cleaning up the creek

About the 23rd Annual National River Cleanup Day at Watson Park (San Jose)

Organized by Save the Bay In partnership with the Santa Clara Valley Water District.

Every day, runoff pollution from our streets and neighborhoods- including plastic bags, Styrofoam food containers, and cigarette butts, washes into storm drains and flows through creeks, where it discharges into the Bay untreated. This is the single largest source of Bay pollution. On National River Cleanup Day, join Save The Bay in removing this toxic litter from our creeks and rivers before it has a chance to reach our Bay. Come out and help create a healthier Bay for all of us!
