Karen

KAREN is Secretary, Treasurer and one of our instructors. She has over 35 years experience in a forensic/scientific background. She has a particular interest in puppy development and has recently become one of the first 'Easy Peasy Puppy Scheme' instructors (Steve Mann IMDT).  She has also completed the 'Puppy Instructors Course' with internationally renowned animal behaviourist Chirag Patel and is a 'Puppy Start Right' instructor with the Karen Pryor Academy of Animal Behaviour & Training. She holds Level 1 instructing with the International Animal Behaviour Training College, and has completed Levels 1/2/3 Practical Skills (chicken/clicker) with Chirag Patel.

Karen has experience with a wide range of breeds including (GSDs, Bullmastiffs, Labradors...right down to the other end of the scale with a toy Poodle and an array of wonderful crossbreeds). She has owned many rescue dogs with a variety of behavioural and health issues.   She is a (Grade 4) Agility competitor and has achieved her Agility Warrant 'Silver' award. She has also worked through the KC GCDS awards with her own dogs. Karen regularly attends seminars and courses to continue her development in training and behaviour including: IMDT seminars, The Bite Conference (bites/aggression), IMPACT (working dogs conference), Scent work, Canine Massage, Clicker Expo, Daniel Mills, Simon Gadbois, Susan Freidman, Turid Rugaas, Ian Dunbar and many others.
